The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under the bilateral arrangement with the Government of India provides technical support various states and urban local bodies in India for capacity building and professional management. As part of the ongoing activities of USAID and United States Asia Environmental Partnership (US-AEP), work in relation to professional development of city managers and capacity building of urban local bodies has been taken up through the formation of “city Managers” association in various states in India using the expertise of International City/County Management Association (ICMA) provides technical assistance and support to the Indian states where association have been formed or are to be formed in consultation with the USAID India.
